Marcel van Dijk is a floral designer and owner of Oogenlust, a florist shop in the higher market segment. He has been a regular customer of Weerman for twenty-eight years.

What was the last thing you ordered from Weerman?
I have no idea. My staff takes care of purchasing. We buy blindly, which means that we commission Weerman to choose the best flowers from the selection for us.

Do you place orders using e-commerce?
No, by phone. We have a designated contact at Weerman, Esther. She makes sure we get the best product at the best price. And we’re very happy with her work. The personal touch is very important to us.

Do you buy from Cultra or Super Cash & Carry?
I walk through Cultra every Monday to check out the selection. We then place our order through Esther at Super Cash & Carry.

How often do you place orders?
Around two or three times a week and usually between forty and a hundred packages each time. When it’s very busy, we may order as many as three hundred packages, and, during slow periods, maybe only twenty-five.

What do you usually order?
We only buy seasonal flowers and the very best products available at that specific time. That could be anything. But we’re very fond of roses. We do lots of parties so, for example, we might order three hundred roses and three hundred of something else and Weerman takes care of it all.

Why do you buy from Weerman?
Because we’re not interested in price, but quality. We need to be able to trust a company blindly. We’ve been working together with Weerman for a very long time. We demand a high level of service. And accept nothing less than perfect or nearly perfect. And Weerman really does its absolute best to make that happen. We are willing to invest in a good supplier and consider them more of a partner than anything else. After all, they contribute to our success.
